Frequently Asked Questions

What does a copywriter do?

A copywriter is a professional business writer.

Copywriting is a crucial element of marketing. We’re the ones creating all the words. From elements as small as a tagline (Nike - Just Do It), to enormous e-commerce websites with hundreds of pages, a copywriter does it all.

If you need words for your business or marketing help, a copywriter could be your first call. We’re skilled in using persuasive words to make people want to buy or book, and helping businesses develop their brand and unique voice.

i live in another state, can you still write my copy?

Yes! I work with clients all over Australia.

Can we meet?

My business is online, so phone or Zoom calls are encouraged!

Can you write for my industry?

I have worked with clients in a huge range of industries, from fitness to hospitality, and beauty to family law. I’m a confident copywriter, excellent researcher and take a thorough brief. This allows me to get to know your business well and deliver great results.

If your requirements are unusually complex or super technical, I have a wonderful network of copywriters and would be happy to refer you to someone in your niche.

How much do you charge?

Copywriting projects vary in size and complexity. Once I find out the details of exactly what you need, I’ll provide a fixed price quote. This means you know the exact cost upfront and there will never be any nasty surprises on your bill. You can check out my pricing page for more info. There’s also a handy article here about how much Aussie copywriters charge.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, all copywriting projects require a 50% deposit before work commences, which is copywriting industry standard. The balance will be invoiced upon delivery of your final draft, with payment required within 14 days.

Resume and cover letters must be paid for upfront, in full.

How long does it take?

I’m excellent at meeting deadlines, so make sure you let me know if your project is time sensitive.

How fast your copywriting project is completed depends on the size and complexity of the project and how much work I already have scheduled. I will always advise you in advance how long your project will take.

As a rough guide, I can have the first draft of a straightforward 5-page website completed within 2-3 weeks, and a blog post in less than a week.

What does your price include?

I provide all my clients with a thorough copywriting proposal, which outlines the details of the project.

My price includes a thorough briefing call with you (phone, Skype or Zoom), industry and competitor research, two rounds of amendments (if required) and professional proofreading for all website copywriting.

Can I make changes to the copy?

Yes! Two rounds of revisions are included in my fee. I’ll send you the first draft and you can request any changes you like. A second draft will come through and if needed, you can have another round of revisions. This gives the best opportunity to make sure you are over the moon with the final copy.

Once you have signed off on the final copy, the copyright for the work transfers to you and you are free to use it how you wish.
